Bodegas Nodus receives Global Sustainability Award for its commitment to responsible and sustainable wine production
Bodegas Nodus received last October the Global Sustainability Award, a recognition that highlights its ongoing commitment to sustainability in the production of organic wines. This award, presented during the annual awards ceremony of the Business Confederation of the Valencian Community (CEV), recognises the winery’s efforts to implement responsible and environmentally friendly practices throughout its production chain.
The event, held in the CEV Auditorium in Valencia and sponsored by Caixa Popular, brought together a multitude of professionals from the sector, offering different conferences and round tables on sustainability that concluded with an awards ceremony in which the environmental, social and governance achievements of different organisations were recognised. Among them, the Global Sustainability Award, received by Bodegas Nodus, symbolises the company’s success in transforming its vineyards and production processes towards a more environmentally conscious and respectful model.
Without a doubt, this recognition highlights Bodegas Nodus’ leadership in adopting sustainable production methods that protect biodiversity and promote a natural balance in its vineyards. The winery has moved towards fully organic production, developing a holistic approach that fuses innovation, social responsibility and respect for nature. It has also incorporated sustainability criteria in the development of its products, responding to a growing demand for environmental protection by prioritising the rational use of natural resources, raw materials and energy, as well as maintaining good environmental practices.
On the other hand, since 2020, Bodegas Nodus has been committed to wine tourism as a diversification strategy, with a refurbishment of its Hacienda into a Rural Hotel that promotes rural and sustainable tourism. This contributes to its mission of highlighting wine culture at all stages of the tourist’s journey and encourages responsible tourism development.
In addition, the winery has a Sustainability Policy that defines commitments and strategies for continuous improvement, as well as a Sustainability Plan with annual objectives and action plans that have resources and people in charge assigned to ensure their implementation. Bodegas Nodus is also committed to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda, prioritising SDGs 4, 5, 8, 10, 12, 13 and 15 in its Sustainability Plan.
Obtaining certifications such as SICTED, S for Sustainable Tourism and Wineries for Climate Protection in 2023, along with the ‘Commitment’ award at the Creaturisme awards at FITUR 2024, reflect its commitment to sustainability and respect for the natural environment.
The awards event culminated with a networking session that enabled attendees to share ideas and explore collaborations to drive sustainability in the industry.
